DAY 1

Arrival at the international airport inCaracas:
Meet & greet. Transfer to Caracas. Overnight at Hotel Avila.
or
Arrival at the international airport in Porlamar:
Meet & greet. Transfer to Porlamar City. Overnight at Hotel Puerta del Sol Porlamar.

DAY 2

Flight from Caracas or Porlamar to Valera. From here the road takes you to Trujillo. You will visit the monument of the “Virgen de la Paz” beautifully located above the cozy town Trujillo. Overnight in Timotes.

DAY 3

An interesting tour over a 4000 Mts. mountain pass at the Sierra Nevada National Park to the panorama point “Pico el Aguila” will be a today’s highlight. There are more than 200 lakes in this National Park, one of which, the glacier lake “Mucubají” you will visit today. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Escagüey.

DAY 4

Early breakfast. The excursion will lead you through the imposing surrounding of the Andes the fruit and coffee plantations, located on 1600 Mts. down to Mérida. Today you will take the famous cable car “Teleférico” up Mount Pico Espejo will have a marvelous view on the different zones of vegetation of the Andes. This cable car is the longest and highest of the world and allows an exceptional panorama on the mountaintops. After lunch, you will get to know Mérida by doing a city tour. Several parks and inviting cafés are creating a relaxing atmosphere in this university town at the bottom of Pico Espejo Overnight in a hotel or a posada near Mérida.

DAY 5

Breakfast. Today you will pass the Venezuelan highlands, the Paramos, and go down to the Llanos, the great plains. The wild and unspoiled area of Los Llanos is considered one of worlds' best to enjoy wild life, with an incredible variety of birds (180 species) and others such as pumas, ocelots, jaguars, deer, wild boars, capybaras, ant bears, river dolphins, anacondas and all types of reptiles including crocodiles. Overnight at the Hato Santa María.

DAY 6

After breakfast, transfer to Barinas, flight to Caracas and connecting flight to Maturín. Transfer to the agrotourism Hacienda San Andrés. This ranch lies idyllicly like an oasis in the midst of the western Venezuelan Llanos, the lowlands near to Maturin. The French management takes care lovingly of the guests. The rooms are built in the bungalow style all around the pool and are beautiful furnished- according to the landscape. Dinner and overnight at Rancho San Andres.

DAY 7

We spend a day at the ranch. The main house is surrounded by beautiful gardens with an inviting pool. Behind the gardens there are paddocks on which 2500 cattle and 500 horses romp around. There is a multiplicity of birds, a huge variety of other fauna and flora. High on horseback or by jeep you can watch the cowboys doing their work and help to drive the cattle. Dinner and overnight at Rancho San Andres.

DAY 8

Breakfast. Drive to a little port and boat transfer to our Jungle Camp in the Orinoco Delta. In the afternoon our program leads us into the heart of the tropical jungle on a boat excursion. Dinner and overnight in the Camp.

DAY 9

Full day in the Delta region, home of the Warao Indians who support themselves with rich handicraft. In the morning and in the afternoon excursions by boat in this vast area that is covered by dense jungle vegetation, and is criss-crossed by the many sidearms of the Orinoco. The boatride brings us in contact with lush nature, flora and fauna, such as: sweet water dolphins, turtles, crocodiles, otters, piranhas, monkeys, parrots and many more. Overnight at the Camp.

DAY 10

After an early breakfast transfer to the airport of Maturín (or Puerto Ordaz) and flight to Canaima. If the weather conditions permit we will flight over the Angel Fall, the highest waterfall of the world- almost 1000 mts. In Canaima we will visit the lagoon with its famous waterfalls. After lunch we’ll board the plane which takes us in approximately 20 min. to the picturesque Arekuna Camp. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 11

After breakfast we start a day tour to Guariche. We will arrive by boat from the Camp to the fascinating waterfalls in the Guariche Canyon. After an hike through the tropical rain forest, we can take a refreshing bath in a dreamy lagoon. Pic nic lunch. Dinner and overnight at the Arekuna Camp.

DAY 12

Today we’ll visit an indian community where you can get impressions of the culture and way of life. After lunch in the Arekuna Camp we make another excursion by boat to the Baba waterfall where we have the possibility to take a bath on the river beach. Back on the Camp we’ll take the flight to Margarita Island. End of roundtrip from / to Porlamar. For roundtrips from / to Caracas connecting flight to Caracas with transfer to the Hotel Avila.

DAY 13 – only from / to Caracas

Breakfast. During a city tour you will get an impression in this vibrant and modern capital of Venezuela. This metropolis with its 7 million inhabitants, almost a third of the whole population of the country is as well the cultural and economical center. In the afternoon transfer to the airport for your international flight.
