Known as the "Pearl of Venezuela" for its picturesque beaches and agreeable climate, Margarita covers an area of 328 square miles. Due to its tax status and its geographical situation, Margarita is a significant tourist center in the Caribbean featuring hotels and resorts, casinos, international restaurants, a large variety of shops and a busy night life.

Its historic tradition is rich in heroic deeds, legends and monuments; it vibrates with green landscapes, multicoloured sunsets and starlit tropical nights.

The island is ideal for swimming, sunbathing or just relaxing. However watersports are available at most major hotels as well as a great variety of excursions on the island or to the mainland.

Margarita offers an endless selection of restaurants to satisfy any taste and budget. An amazing variety of fresh seafood, as well as its many typical local dishes.

Margarita is located outside the route of storms and hurricanes, so this permits the island to be mostly free from this kind of danger. The annual average of rainfalls is very low and the climate is warm with an average of 27°C (85°F).

The gentle breeze that constantly blows across the Island makes you unaware of the heat of the sun.The island features very beautiful beaches. Add to that a widely varied landscape and hospitable people. The charm of Margarita lies in the contrast between its modern and its old. Make the island your starting point for exploring the rest of Venezuela.
